I know, we live in Canada, and it's June, and summer is just beginning. We are just starting to think about meals and drinks on the patio and long days at the lake. Why would we even start to think about our winter vacations to somewhere warm, sunny, and tropical when the temperatures start to drop here in a few months?
There are a few really great reasons and I will explain some of them.
Things are already selling out
It's not unusual for lots of people to be booking their Christmas and New Year's vacations now, being that it is a busy time to travel. And sometimes at this time of year, I am booking the odd vacation for other times over the fall and winter. This year is different though, there is so much pent-up demand from the last 2 and half years, plus loads of people have credit from canceled trips in 2020. What does this mean? It means that lots of people are already booking their fall and winter vacations. People just want to know that they have travel to look forward to this year. People are splurging and spending more than usual, on upgraded seats, higher-end resorts, and/or the best room categories at the resorts. That means that seats in premium class and the top room categories are already getting very picked over, and are in some cases already sold out. Do you know all those family groups and destinations weddings that were postponed the last two winters? Well, they are all booked to travel this fall and winter, which means regular seats on flights are filling up and resorts, in general, are filling up faster.
Prices
Guess what happens when demand goes up? You got it, prices go up! Prices for last-minute travel right now are way higher than usual, we are not seeing the last-minute sales that we typically see. The prediction within the industry is that this will be the norm for the next year, possibly two. So, as flights and resorts fill up, the prices increase. This mixed with rising fuel prices is really increasing travel prices. If you lock in your vacation with a deposit now, then you lock in that price, and hopefully will save yourself some money in the long run.
Large families
If you are a family of five or more there are only certain room categories you can book at resorts. These larger room categories sell out fast, so this year you definitely want to get it booked!
More time to save
Right now when you book, you can put a deposit of $250.00 per person down. Then you have until about 60 days before departure to pay the remainder. During this time you can work out a payment schedule with me, or just put it all in your savings account and make one big payment at the end. Maybe more time to save can help you afford a vacation that you thought you could never do, or maybe it will mean a longer vacation, a better room, or a better resort.
Happiness
When you have a vacation planned and booked, you have something to look forward to, and count the days down to. This will get you excited, and give you so much happiness!
